Catherine Earp is a professional Pilates Instructor. In 1999, she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Saint Olaf College, with a double major in Dance and Economics and has completed Masters-level coursework at Old Dominion University in Exercise Physiology. She danced with the Saint Olaf College Company Dance Group and has performed with the Elbert Watson Modern Dance Company of Norfolk, VA. She is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as a personal trainer and one of the highest trained Pilates instructors in the country. Earp has completed a 700-hour apprenticeship in The Pilates Method under the guidance of world-renowned Romana Kryzanowska, a Master Teacher trained directly by Joseph Pilates. Although Romana is now deceased, Catherine carries on her work by training other instructors in The Pilates Method at Romana’s Pilates annual conventions and Teacher-training seminars.
Earp has taught classes and workshops at Ballet NJ, Dartmouth College Dance Department, Old Dominion University Dance Department, Norfolk Academy Dance Department and Virginia Ballet Theater. She also maintains a private practice of individual clients. At PDT, she enjoys the opportunity to enable the dancers to strengthen the unique areas where they face challenges and thereby to enjoy peak performance.
