Roy Kaiser started tap dancing as young boy with his four brothers. He performed on television and at the 1967 Worlds Fair in New York. Although Mr. Kaiser did not take ballet until he was 17 years old, he quickly received scholarships to train at major dance academies. At age 21, he moved to Philadelphia to train at the School of the Pennsylvania Ballet. He joined Pennsylvania Ballet Company in 1979, and soon took on soloist and principal roles.
Mr. Kaiser danced with the Pennsylvania Ballet for 13 years. He became the company ballet master in 1992 and took on the artistic directorship of the company in 1995. He is currently its Artistic Director Emeritus.
