Ms. Youskevitch is the daughter of legendary ballet star, Igor Youskevitch. (Click here to read his NYTimes obituary, which illuminates his great contributions to ballet.) She was a soloist with American Ballet Theatre, Maryland Ballet, and ballerina in Igor Youskevitch’s concert company, Ballet Romantique.
Her training stems directly from the stars of Maryiinsky Ballet, the Diaghilev Ballet Russe, and the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo. Her first teacher was her mother, Anna Scarpova Youskevitch, who was a former soloist with Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo and taught in NYC for over 50 years.
Ms. Youskevitch, featured in the June 2002 issue of Dance Teacher Magazine, has been training and coaching dancers for over 45 years. She began her teaching career in NYC at the Igor Youskevitch School of Ballet, and went on to teach at renowned schools such as the David Howard Dance Center, Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, Harkness House for Ballet Arts, Houston Ballet’s Ben Stevenson Academy, American Ballet Theatre’s JKO School, Richmond Ballet, Virginia School of the Arts, and Hartford Ballet. She was a principal faculty member at the Princeton Ballet School for nearly 20 years, where she nurtured a generation of students into professional careers.
Additionally, she is an ABT certified teacher and has been the Ballet Mistress for BalletMet, Nevada Ballet Theatre, and coach for the New York International Ballet Competition.
