Classes & Programs


PDT’s modern dance classes include floor work, release technique, and improvisation. Modern dance is much less formal than ballet, which is highly codified. Regardless, modern dance requires core strength and some of the same technical aspects as ballet.

PDT offers three levels of Modern dance. Classes begin Friday, September 25, 2020 and run through Friday, June 18, 2021.
Modern 1/2 (ages 8+) – 5:00-6:00PM
Modern 3 (ages 11+) – 6:00-7:00PM
Modern 4 (ages 13+ by invitation only) – 4:00-5:00PM

Important payment information: Registration is for an entire year of classes (32 classes). A 20% deposit is required at the time of registration, and the balance (80%) is due in September. Installment plans are available for your convenience. A $15 fee is assessed to each installment. Please note that the once yearly family registration fee of $45 is added to the September invoice. Sibling and multi-class discounts are applied to the last installment.

Class placement is at the discretion of the instructor. Registration for the school year is possible until March 1st. Tuition is prorated based on the number of classes left in the school year. If you have questions about registration, please contact the office at or call 609-514-1600.

Early bird registration for the 2020/2021 school year ends April 30th.

NEW! Class size will be limited to allow for distancing and all dancers must wear a mask. Classes may be taken in person or simultaneously via zoom. When you register, please indicate in the first box under Optional Information if your child will be dancing in person or via zoom.

    By filling out this registration form, you are registering for the entire class as listed on this page. For full year classes, division into payments is made only for the family’s convenience. If you withdraw during the school year for any reason, it is your responsibility to contact the Office Manager immediately at 609-514-1600 or by email ( You are required to give 30 days notice of dropping a class A drop fee of $25 will be charged. NO REFUNDS OF TUITION PAID FOR ANY REASON. UNUSED FEES (after the 30 days notice and the $25 drop fee) WILL BE KEPT INDEFINITELY FOR CREDIT. A CREDIT CAN ONLY BE USED BY THE STUDENT OR HIS/HER IMMEDIATE (NUCLEAR) FAMILY. IT IS NOT TRANSFERABLE TO OUTSIDE FAMILY MEMBERS OR FRIENDS.

    We offer a 2, 4 & 8 installment payment plan. Installment plan carries a $15 per class, per installment fee. There is no additional fee for payments made in full by September 15th.

    Please note that our policy does not guarantee make up classes.

    Make-ups may be arranged for Dance With Me, Pre-primary, Just Adults and Adult/Teen Ballet classes at the discretion of the instructor if there is room in a comparable class.

    Dancers in Levels 1 through Level 3 may take a make up class on an alternate day from their usual schedule if the instructor allows. CP, Level 4 and Level 5 students may make up classes in a level below if cleared by the instructor and arranged through the office.

    Primary A, B and C students may be allowed one make-up class per semester IF there is space in a comparable class. All make-ups must be scheduled through the office. If there is abuse of the make-up classes and parents bring students to classes without scheduling them in advance, we will revert to our strict no-make-up policy.

    Those registering after the start of classes will be charged based on a prorate of the 32 week session. Any class with a registration of seven students or less may be cancelled at the discretion of the School Director.

    Please note that new students wanting to enroll in a Level 1 and above class need to schedule a placement class. Dancers in lower levels MUST be of specified age by September 30. Only an instructor can finalize any placement. There is a charge of $20 to be subtracted from tuition upon enrollment (provided enrollment is within 2 weeks of placement class date).

    Prospective students may take a risk-free trial class. No fee will be charged if the student decides not to register. If the student registers for the class, the cost of the trial class will be included in the overall tuition. For classes that offer a drop-in rate (eg. Adult/Teen Jazz), free trials are not permitted and the drop-in rate should be paid.

    Initial payment does not include a $45 non-refundable registration fee (per year, per family). This fee will be added to your balance and is due with first installment. This registration fee applies to year-round classes only. There is no registration fee for Dance With Me, Pre-Primary, Adult/Teen, and other classes offered in 10 and 12 week sessions. Please note that discounts (sibling and multi-class) also do not apply to classes offered in 10 and 12 week sessions.

    Sibling and multi-class discounts will be applied to the final installment. Discounts not valid if registering after December 31. See above – discounts are only applied to year-round classes and not to classes offered in 10 and 12 week sessions.

    A late fee of $25 will be charged each time a payment is received more than 5 days past due.

    There will be a fee of $25 assessed for returned checks.

    There will be a fee of $25 assessed for class changes made more than 2 weeks after classes have begun. This fee will be applicable per each change made.
